The City of Seattle offers a variety of classes for on-the-water recreation. Most of the introductory classes will be on the calendar, or check the links below.

Outdoor Adventure Center offers rafting and kayaking instruction.

Northwest Outdoor Center offers kayak lessons and rentals.

Agua Verde Paddle Club offers kayak rental (plus you can grab a delicious Mexican meal at the café after!).

Alki Kayak Tours offers guided sea kayak tours, and also has stand-up paddle boards.

Sound RowersOpen Water Rowing and Paddling Club is a volunteer, non-profit organization whose sole function is to sponsor human-powered boat racing for weekend and world class athletes.” 

Seattle Women’s Sailing Association “is dedicated to uniting women with a common interest in sailing. Founded in 1983, SWSA promotes the advancement of women sailors through education in cruising and racing, with emphasis on the development of skills in safety and seamanship. Although our focus is the advancement of women sailors, membership is open to men as well.”

Seattle Sea Kayak Club “is the place where novices and experts swap stories, share kayaking info, and have fun doing it. The club has an informal social atmosphere which fosters opportunities to meet other paddlers. The club offers a regular monthly newsletter, monthly meetings, and trips.”

Sail Sand Point is a Seattle community boat program dedicated to youth and access for all. We accomplish our mission by nurturing self-confidence, leadership, and an appreciation of our marine environment.

Moss Bay Rowing, Kayaking, and Sailing Center provides “year round adult boating opportunities and youth summer recreation programs near the heart of downtown Seattle.”
