Terrible Bird Photos
Why post terrible photos of birds? Because until I have a proper lens, they're the only kinds of bird photos I can take.
In all seriousness, part of why I like blogging is because it helps me learn new things, and creating these little photo albums actually helps me retain more than I would otherwise.
Additionally, if you, too, are learning to bird, these fuzzy photos are more representative of the blurry views you might be getting of our fleet feathered friends than any clear telephoto'd shot would be. They are actually helpful in their terribleness.
That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Monroe Vaux's Swift (22)
Every late summer, early fall, thousands of Vaux's Swifts roost in a chimney in Monroe, WA as they migrate south. Each evening, the entire group drops into the chimney during just a few minutes. http://monroeswifts.org/ -
